MESSAGES FROM DR. SEEGMILLER

Week of December 11, 2000

1.  I have just posted your grades for all four exams, and for the term, based on those four exams.   I will leave these scores and grades on the website only  until Wednesday night, December 13th.  I will then remove them.

I will NOT post grades for the Final exam on the internet site.  If you want to know how you did on the Final Exam, bring a stamped, self-addressed envelope to class with you on Monday (or leave it in the clear plastic envelope on my door, 509TH).  Include a card in the envelope telling us what grade you want:  e.g.,  my final exam grade:  # correct_____    Score____
                                                             my  semester grade:
As soon as we have the final graded, we will compute your grade for the semester and mail it to you, along with your grade on the final, if you have asked for it BY GIVING US A STAMPED, SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPED WITH A CARD .
Alternatively, you could wait until the Registrar makes your grades available and get the course grade that way.  See 4. below.

2.  If you want to be graded CR/NCR instead of a letter grade, you must get the form from the Registrar's Office, fill it out, and give it to me or Annie personally BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE FINAL.

3.  About the Final:  It will cover just material from class. Use the review sheets that have been posted throughout the semester to help you study this material.  The questions on the Final will be new questions, not ones that have already been used before.  There will be 70 items, a mixture of multiple choice, true/false, and matching.

4.  The Final Exam is on Monday, Dec. 18, 1:45 - 3:45.  Please note that starting with this semester, Fall 2000 grades will no longer be posted outside departmental offices.

If you would like to know what grades you received prior to receiving your end of semester transcript the Registrar suggests the following:

* Provide your instructor with a self -addressed, stamped envelope and ask
that your grade be mailed to you.
* You can look up your grades on our website at http://registrar.hunter.cuny.edu click on grades. Grades are posted to this
site 24 hours after we post them to your record.
* You can access your grades on the terminals outside the OASIS.

Please Note: When accessing your grades via the web you must use your PIN
number. I urge you to change this number regularly.

In other words, your grades on the Final WILL NOT be put on the internet.  If you want your grades on the Final Exam and for the course, bring in a stamped, addressed envelope at the time of the Exam and give it to Annie or I.  OR
check the registrar's page for the course grade.
