The political structure in the United States has different kinds of bureaucracy bodies which fall under it. It is known that bureaucracy is a complex organization which employee have specific jobs and responsibilities and work within hierarchy of authority.
Considering the definition of bureaucracy, a conclusion can be drawn that nobody can carry out any kind of decision without the full endorsement of the bureaucratic system which is in place. New York City Police department bureaucracy has been accused by the residence in the city for failing to end the rampant brutalities caused by some individual officers in the police force in the city. Some critics say that the police department in New York does back the ill treatment which some individual police officers carry against the residence in the city. Those critics base their argument on the fact that there is a full bureaucratic body in the police department but the body has done nothing to end the police brutalities in the city. With regard to the argument which some people are making, people have gathered enough evidence from the continued brutalities which are being caused by the New York City police in our every day life. It appears that these police officers, who cause this ill treatment do so with impunity. The argument continues that if the police officers do not cause these brutalities with impunity, they should have stopped by now. So, this confirms that the bureaucratic system in the New York City police department do support the police brutalities in the city.
On the other hand, there is a system where by a police officer does not testify against a fellow police officer. Considering this system, an officer can violate somebody’s right by shooting or beating in the presence of a police officer who does not take any active part in these kinds of brutalities. But the officer who does not take part in the action will never stand to testify against his fellow officer. The police bureaucracy in New York City has experienced these kinds of incidents but it appears that no attention has been paid to take any disciplinary action against the officers who carry out the brutalities and the officer who fails to tell the truth of what actually happened.
In some cases, the bureaucracy of the police force in New York City assign those officers who cause brutalities to desk duty while their case are been investigated. But the general public does not see it, so the individual people in the city turn to criticize the police bureaucracy of not acting properly to discipline the police officers. Many times, the people’s voice turns to be true; in the sense that these officers who cause the brutalities resume normal duties after some few days suspension. So, if the people in New York City claim that the bureaucratic system in the police force is in bad shape there should not by any doubts.

There have been some numerous complaints against the mayor of New York City for supporting the police brutalities in the city. Most people base their complaints on the mayor’s failure to cooperate with the police bureaucracy to end the rampant brutalities caused by individual police officers in the city. The mayor has a full right to bring every police officer who cause brutalities into justice but he looks nonchalant of conducting any serious investigation into the brutalities by the police in the city.
The best example is the Haitian guy’s case. After Abner Luima was brutally beaten by the police, Mayor Guiliani did not publicly say anything about the police’s bad action against Luima. The only thing he did say was he would get the case investigated. The investigation was slow, so people in New York City staged a very powerful demonstration and it called for federal government to step in. Now, the action of the mayor has signaled that whatever the police do, he supports it.
