The plan will depend upon the reason for the behavior.

This is one of many different ways that the desired behavior could be developed:

1. Student brings an object to school and shows it to the teacher only.

2. Student holds up the object while sitting at his/her desk (Teacher says: "XX brought something to school today.  XX, please hold it up for us to see."

3. The student answers a "yes/no" question from his/her seat posed by the teacher (and practiced with the child earlier).

4. The student provides a longer verbal response to a question posed by the teacher (and practiced with the child earlier).

5. Student tells about the object from the seat.

6.Student stands up next to desk and tells about object.

7. Student tells about object from front of room with friend or teacher standing with him/her.

8. Student tells about object from front of room with no one else there for support.
