Current Areas of Research:
As an experimental and applied behavior analyst, my research focuses on understanding the causes of behavior, particularly those that are the result of learning while taking biological constraints into account. Learning can be studied by employing, among others, classical and operant conditioning paradigms. Of interest are, for example, choice behavior, selective attention, and cognition (from a behavior analytical perspective). I use the pigeon as an animal model (because of the impressive visual abilities of bird) and try to apply knowledge gained from the study of general learning principles to humans with developmental disabilities.
