Ida Susser - Ethnographic Fieldwork in Namibia

Ida Susser has been conducting research concerning the development of AIDS prevention programs in Southern Africa, Puerto Rico and New York City. In the summer of 1996 she went with Richard Lee of the University of Toronto to develop a training program at The University of Namibia, and to initiate research concerning AIDS prevention among the Ju/'hoansi [Kung San] and other groups in Namibia. The image above is of a Ju/'hoansi woman with two of her children outside her home. Ida interviewed her with respect to sexuality and other reproductive issues.
