Gregory A. Johnson - Archaeological Fieldwork in Syria

This is an image from the 1997 excavation season at Tell Ziyade on the Khabur River in northern Syria. Working with the Yale University Khabur Project, Johnson [l.] shown here with our expedition A.D.C., is excavating substantial deposits from the late Vth - early IVth millennium B.C.. This work is part of a long-term investigation of cultural dynamics in northern Mesopotamia.
